Five Players Who Could Join Arsenal This Summer

Share

Arsenal took a cautious approach during the 2024 summer transfer window, but they are expected to support Mikel Arteta with several big-money signings this time around. The Gunners aim to bring in reinforcements as they look to provide Arteta with a squad capable of finally winning the Premier League title.

Arsenal wanted to sign Nico Williams during the 2024 summer transfer window, and after failing to reach an agreement for the Spanish star, they will attempt to secure a deal again this year. FootballTransfers understands that a move to the Emirates Stadium is likely; however, Arsenal will need to persuade Williams to leave his beloved Athletic Club to finalize the transfer. Barcelona is also monitoring his situation, with several teams across Europe likely to pursue a deal if he decides to move clubs this summer.

Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad)

Real Madrid hopes to hijack Arsenal’s deal for Martin Zubimendi, but the Real Sociedad star is still expected to move to north London after the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign. Arsenal is set to lose both Thomas Partey and Jorginho on free transfers, and they have identified Zubimendi as their dream midfield target. FootballTransfers reports that Arsenal is close to reaching an agreement with the Spanish international as they prepare to bring him to the club.

Benjamin Sesko (RB Leipzig)

Signing a new center forward is one of Arsenal’s primary goals for 2025, and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko is a key target. The Slovenia international has enjoyed a stellar stint in the Bundesliga, and Arsenal is eager to bring him to the Emirates Stadium this summer, especially amid the recent struggles of Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres are also on Arsenal’s radar, but Sesko appears to be the most attainable option at the moment.

Sverre Nypan (Rosenborg)

Rosenborg wonderkid Sverre Nypan has been linked with several elite European clubs over the past few months, but a move to Arsenal seems to be the most likely next step. Reports indicate that Nypan has already agreed to personal terms with the north London club and is eager to join. Aston Villa, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur have also expressed interest in the teenager following his breakout performance at Rosenborg, but Arsenal is currently leading the race to sign him.

Joan Garcia (Espanyol)

David Raya is the undisputed number-one goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium; however, the Gunners are looking to secure a backup option this summer as Neto is set to return to Bournemouth following his loan spell in north London. Espanyol star Joan Garcia has been identified as Arsenal’s top target, with the club aiming to complete a deal after narrowly missing out on his signature in 2024. They will face significant competition for the Spaniard, as there is reported interest from Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United.
