12 Chinese nationals, Ghanaian under arrest

National Security agents have detained twelve (12) Chinese nationals and one Ghanaian in relation to the missing ECG containers at the Tema Port.

The suspects, who are connected to two Shai Hills-based aluminum smelting businesses, were captured Thursday in an operation spearheaded by intelligence.

Cables, believed to be part of the missing consignment, were found an at aluminum smelter owned by the Chinese, opposite the Shai Hills Game Reserve.

Reports suggest, these cables were being melted into export-ready aluminum bars.

The security operatives are on a manhunt for another Chinese national who is evading arrest.

The suspects are expected to be put before court by Saturday, March 29, 2025.
