A suspected armed robber has been lynched by a mob at Adum in the Kumasi Metropolis of the Ashanti Region after allegedly attacking a victim with a knife in an attempt to steal his mobile phone.
According to a witness, the incident occurred on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, around 5:00 AM.
Speaking to Opoku Adusei, a student journalist at the OTEC School of Journalism and Communication Studies, the witness stated that the suspect, along with two accomplices, attempted to rob a pedestrian of his mobile phone.
Reports indicate that the robbers ambushed the victim, attacked him with a knife, and stole his phone.
However, their plan was foiled when two of the suspects managed to escape, leaving the third at the mercy of an angry mob.
The suspect was subsequently lynched on the spot, while the other two escaped with the stolen item.
Police from the Railway Police Station arrived at the scene to recover the body.
An investigation into the incident is expected to follow.
