An entourage from the Kumasi Traditional Council, led by Akyeamfuo Asafo Boakye Agyemang, Otumfuo Akwamuhene, has pledged to collaborate with the government to support victims of the recent fire incident at Adum.

The visit followed a briefing by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, to the Manhyia Palace on the Adum PZ fire.

The devastating fire, which occurred on Friday, March 21, 2025, destroyed over 1,000 shops and goods worth millions of Ghana cedis.

During the visit, Akyeamfuo Asafo Boakye Agyemang expressed sympathy for the victims and assured them of the Council’s commitment to providing support.

The entourage inspected the affected area to determine the best approach to assisting in its redevelopment.

For his part, Baffour Osei Kwame, Otumfuo Kantankrakyi, emphasized the need for Kumasi to reassess its development strategies, citing congestion and accessibility issues in the metropolis.

He noted that the Kumasi Traditional Council would support the Ashanti Regional Minister in carrying out a rezoning exercise, particularly in the area affected by the fire incident at Adum.
