According to a Report from Adom Online, As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gears up for the 2028 elections, much attention is being placed on who Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will choose as his running mate if he leads the party once again. While he did not secure the presidency in 2024, many believe Bawumia will remain a pivotal figure in the party and return as its flagbearer in the next election.

1. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO)
Dr. Opoku Prempeh, affectionately known as NAPO, served as Bawumia’s running mate in 2024 and remains a strong contender. With vast political experience and significant popularity, especially in the Ashanti Region, NAPO has established himself as a seasoned leader through his roles as Education and Energy Minister. His track record and strong regional influence make him a likely choice for 2028.
2. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum
A respected figure in Ghana’s educational reform, Dr. Adutwum served as Minister of Education and is currently the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwe.
