Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Minister of Finance
The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has debunked claims that he approved some procurement deals worth $1.7 million.
According to him, no procurement contract has been signed or approved by him or his office.
He wrote on X page on March 22, 2025: “My attention has been drawn to yet another baseless and misleading claim circulating about an alleged $1.7 million single-source procurement contract approved by me. This claim is completely false and should be disregarded.
“Let me state clearly and categorically: I have not approved any procurements since I took office as Minister,” he said.
The minister emphasised his resolve to ensure fiscal discipline and expenditure rationalisation.
“My focus remains on ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible economic management in the best interest of Ghana,” he said.
In a similar statement, the Public Procurement Authority debunked the claims, adding that no approval has been made.
It said the Ministry of Finance has granted no single source approvals for the engagement of Osrec Limited with respect to the implementation of Middleware and Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition with a data warehouse.
We therefore entreat the general public to ignore the said letters in circulation,” the statement said.
