Former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu
Experienced journalist Gordon Asare-Bediako has alleged that the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is planning to suspend former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu for alleged misconduct.
According to the TV host with Movement Television, the former Suame Member of Parliament’s decision to present the Ashanti Regional report on the 2024 election to the regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has led to this decision.
“They have orchestrated that Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, who led the report for the 2024 election and gave it to Wontumi, should not have done that. So, a leader of the party has said that he should be called before a committee and suspended,” he said.
According to Asare-Bediako, they have gathered enough evidence to suggest that plans are underway to support this claim.
The NPP lost the 2024 elections to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer and current President, John Dramani Mahama.
Following the party’s defeat, Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu was tasked with conducting an election review to analyze the reasons behind the loss.
After completing the report, he presented it to Wontumi, which reportedly triggered the leadership’s decision to suspend him.
