Jurgen Klopp’s legacy at Liverpool is set in stone.

The German coach changed the history of the club throughout the nine seasons he oversaw at Anfield, bringing every trophy possible back to Merseyside after years of struggle for the Reds.

His legacy still continues at Liverpool as the team the German put together during the summer of 2023 is now on the verge of winning the Premier League. Gary Linker recently praised Klopp for the squad he left behind for Slot and the legendary Reds boss should receive praise for his role.

Klopp hopes to be at Anfield to witness Liverpool lift the Premier League and there is no question that his former players will be delighted to see him.

Harvey Elliott was one star the German coach showed a lot of faith in during his time with the Premier League giants and the 21-year-old has admitted he is “surprised” the club have not marked the legendary manager’s time with a certain gesture.

Harvey Elliott calls for Liverpool to build a Jurgen Klopp statue

This season has been a bit of a struggle for Elliott as Slot has not trusted the 21-year-old as much as Klopp, having only been given 583 minutes of action by the Dutch coach.

Klopp was always pushing Elliott to achieve more at Liverpool and there is no doubt that the English star would have had a bigger role this season had the German coach saw out his contract at Anfield.

Having given him his big break, there will always be some affection between Elliott and his former boss, with the midfielder recently stating that he is ‘surprised’ a statue has not been built for Klopp already.

“I’m surprised there is not a statue of him yet,” Elliott told Amazon Prime Video. “He has that legacy I think that will live for many, many, many years. He deserves it.”

It may still be too soon for Klopp to get a statue at Anfield as these things take a lot of time to plan but one day, it will come.

The German coach deserves it for what he did on Merseyside and the former Liverpool boss has already made public how he would feel if Liverpool did create one for him.

Jurgen Klopp not interested in Liverpool statue

By winning the Premier League in 2020, ending the Reds’ 30-year wait for the trophy, Klopp’s legacy at Liverpool was already cemented.

In the aftermath of the achievement, many called for a statue to be built of the German coach and when that was put to the 57-year-old, the former Reds boss admitted he did not wish to see this happen.

“I want to live for 30 or 40 years so I am not interested in a statue, for sure not in my lifetime – I don’t want to pass anything like that,” Klopp told a press conference in 2020 via GOAL.

“I am the manager of this team and we won the league so people see this as positive I can imagine. I am very positive about that as well but you don’t have to compare me with these iconic figures.”

Unfortunately for Klopp, that statue is coming one day and when it comes, there is no doubt the legendary figure will be there to celebrate it.
