A horrific wrestling stunt has left fans vowing to “never watch again”. During last night’s episode of All Elite Wrestling’s Dynamite show, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley took on Adam Copeland – formerly Edge in WWE – in a Street Fight with the championship on the line.

And while Moxley is known for his hardcore style and love of pain, one moment in the match left fans reeling . . . and screaming. After hitting dad-of-one Moxley, with a trio of clotheslines, Copeland went outside the ring and grabbed a 2×4 piece of black wood covered in huge nails, which he calls “Spike”.

The weapon has been seen in other wrestling promotions, namely TNA where it was called Janice and belonged to the “monster” known as Abyss, but it has rarely ever made contact with human flesh . . . until now.

Copeland took a swing at Moxley and landed a blow on his stomach, which many thought would be the end of it.

But in a moment going viral on social media and labelled by many as the “most disgusting thing ever,” Moxley was then hurled through the air and landed on his back right on top of the giant nails – and they were not “gimmicked”.

WARNING, GRAPHIC CONTENT

In a moment we’re not willing to show you uncensored due to its grim nature, Moxley’s face was shown close up, with a look of horrific agony plastered across it.

But then he sat up, and the camera zoomed in on the weapon stuck to his back. Moxley got up, walked around the ring until fellow wrestler Wheeler Yuta tried to remove the nails from his back by pulling it out . . . but all it did was pull the skin from his body, which saw the AEW audience in attendance let out genuine screams of horror.

Nope
Nope

The weapon eventually came out, with help from the referee, and Moxley was left with pools of blood dripping out of his spine – and yet, Moxley went on to win the match.

This, many claim, was a “step too far”, as one wrote on social media: “Jon Moxley risked being paralyzed, by having spikes in his back, and people are applauding it.

“I don’t care if that was CM Punk out there doing that, that’s stupidity and shouldn’t be in wrestling “At some point Tony Khan (AEW’S owner), needs to learn when to say NO.”

Sorry . . .
Sorry . . .

And another raged: “I just watched the worst show I’ve ever seen as a wrestling fan. The bull***t bat in Moxley’s back – shameful.”

And a third posted: “This ain’t pro wrestling, Jesus Christ. Moxley could’ve easily punctured his lungs with this monumentally stupid spot, if something like that doesn’t end a match, what’s the point at all?

Oh, Jon . . .
Oh, Jon . . .

“Folk who enjoy this kinda **** want to see people die in the ring.” And a fourth added: “Nah, I’m done. I’m never watching this again”.

Some did praise Moxley for putting his body on the line for entertainment . . . but it left the Daily Star wondering whether it really is worth it for something that could easily have gone horrifically wrong?
