Kwame Sefa Kayi’s Absence Explained – Here’s What Really Happened

PK Sarpong, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a close friend of well-known broadcaster Kwame Sefa Kayi, has announced that Despite Media has decided to bring back Sefa Kayi as the host of Kokrokoo on Peace FM. He is expected to return to the show in the first week of April 2025.

Sefa Kayi has been missing from the show for some time, leading to many rumors. Some people even speculated that he had been fired. However, PK Sarpong has made it clear that Sefa Kayi is still with Peace FM and will soon be back on air.

The reason for his absence was a disagreement with the management of Peace FM. This issue was connected to the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s past decision to boycott Kokrokoo. The party stopped sending representatives to the show due to some misunderstandings. However, since the NDC came into power, Peace FM’s management has been in talks with them to bring their representatives back to the program. At first, the discussions were not easy, but things have improved, and the issue is now close to being resolved.

With Sefa Kayi set to return, it is also likely that the NDC will resume its participation in Kokrokoo. Before the boycott, NDC representatives were regular guests on the show, and their presence added to the discussions. Many listeners have missed Sefa Kayi’s voice on the program, and his comeback is expected to bring back the engaging and exciting debates that Kokrokoo is known for.

Now that it has been confirmed that Sefa Kayi will continue working with Peace FM, all eyes are on the first week of April for his much-anticipated return. More updates will be shared as new details emerge.

In other news, Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, was recently seen at the offices of Despite Media. Reports suggest that he met with the management of the station, possibly to discuss matters related to the ongoing talks about Kokrokoo. This visit has raised speculation that the NDC is preparing to officially end its boycott of the show.
