The police has arrested one person in connection with the murder of Ahmed Suale
The Ghana Police Service has arrested one person in connection with the death of investigative journalist, Ahmed Suale.
The suspect, Daniel Owusu Koranteng, who has been identified as a friend of Suale, released some photos of the deceased to a popular politician in Ghana before he was murdered, according to a report by myjoyonline.com.
The two had worked together at Tiger Eye Private Investigations before the suspect, also known as Akwasi Amakye, disguised himself and left the shores of the country after police picked information about his involvement in the case.
The report noted that the suspect relocated to the UK when police were closing in on him and sneaked into the country.
He was arrested at Amasaman-Adease at a salon.
The report noted that the FBI in the USA extracted information including calls between the suspect and the deceased, few days before he was murdered.
The phone of the late Ahmed Suale was sent to the USA as part of police investigations.
Ahmed Suale was killed in 2019 by unknown assailants at Madina in Accra shortly after he worked on an investigative report with the BBC.
