Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer candidate Kennedy Agyapong
Ralph Agyapong, brother of former New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer candidate Kennedy Agyapong, has revealed that his brother is set to contest in the party’s presidential primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections.
According to Ralph, Kennedy’s previous bid was a battle between him and the state. However, with the NPP’s loss in the 2024 elections, he believes Kennedy’s chances remain high.
He asserted that many people who previously supported Kennedy’s main contender in the primaries, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, have now switched allegiance.
Ralph also hinted that the NPP might hold an early congress to select its flagbearer.
“I can tell you on authority that he will contest the presidency or the NPP primaries, hopefully, next year, because we might have an early congress. He will be on the ballot paper,” he stated.
“As I speak, a lot of people have made a U-turn,” he added in an interview on Kings Jersey TV in the U.S. on March 15, 2025.
Ralph further criticised the NPP’s campaign strategy, stating that it did not help the party secure victory in the 2024 elections.
