Akuffo-Addo Was Better President Than You, You Only Know How To Borrow More

According to the report by gbcghanaonline, Former Finance Minister, Adam Amin, has criticized former President John Mahama, saying that President Nana Akufo-Addo was a better leader.

According to him, Mahama’s government only focused on borrowing money instead of improving the economy.

Speaking at a political event, Adam Amin said,

“Mahama only knows how to borrow more money. Instead of fixing the economy, he kept increasing Ghana’s debt. But Akufo-Addo worked hard to develop the country and create opportunities for the people.”

He explained that under Akufo-Addo’s leadership, there were major improvements in infrastructure, education, and social programs.

He claimed that Mahama’s time in office was filled with economic struggles and poor management.

“When Mahama was President, businesses were collapsing, and people were struggling. There was no clear plan to fix the economy. But under Akufo-Addo, we saw Free SHS, roads, and better policies to support businesses,” Amin added.

He also accused Mahama of failing to handle Ghana’s financial problems effectively.

“A good leader does not just borrow money and leave the country in debt. A good leader finds ways to create wealth and reduce the financial burden on the people. That is what Akufo-Addo tried to do,” he said.

However, some Ghanaians have disagreed with Adam Amin’s statement. Supporters of Mahama believe that he did his best during difficult times.

They argue that Mahama inherited economic problems and still managed to complete important projects.

One Mahama supporter responded,

“Mahama was not perfect, but he did a lot for Ghana. He built hospitals, roads, and schools. He also improved the electricity supply when the country was facing serious power shortages.”

Another citizen said, “Every government faces challenges. Mahama made mistakes, but Akufo-Addo also made mistakes. We need leaders who focus on solving problems instead of blaming each other.”

Adam Amin, however, remains firm in his belief.

“We cannot go back to the days of borrowing without a plan. Ghana needs strong leadership, and we must learn from the past,” he concluded.
