Nottingham Forest will be going in search of new players during the summer transfer window – with a striker very likely to be high on the list of targets.
The Reds have been trying to snare a new talisman since last summer. Chris Wood has been praised by Alan Shearer this season, but despite his brilliance right now, there is no chance he will go on forever!
Evangelos Marinakis tried to sign a striker in January. However, he found Brentford ace Yoane Wissa too expensive and Matheus Cunha chose to sign a new contract with Wolves as they look to stave off the threat of relegation.
Forest were rejected by Santiago Gimenez in the summer. Furthermore, Eddie Nketiah chose Crystal Palace after a conversation with Oliver Glasner and the Reds were left extremely frustrated.
The links have already started ahead of the summer, however. Tammy Abraham has been linked with Forest as the striker looks set to return to the Premier League following his current loan with Milan.

Nuno Espirito Santo will never forget Tammy Abraham
When looking into this link a little bit deeper, it’s perhaps easy to see why Nuno Espirito Santo would want Forest to sign Abraham – given that the striker likely still gives the Forest head coach nightmares!
Back during the 2019/20 campaign, Espirito Santo came up against Abraham for the first time as a manager. During matchweek five, Chelsea travelled to Molineux to face Wolves with the striker handed a start.
Abraham proceeded to destroy Wolves, smashing a brilliant hat-trick during a 5-2 win to leave Espirito Santo wondering what on earth had just hit his team.
The player scored 30 times in 82 appearances for the Blues. In truth, however, he was never really handed a proper chance to shine and in true Chelsea fashion he was offloaded to make way for more expensive additions in August 2021.
Tammy Abraham record vs Nottingham Forest
It’s not just Espirito Santo who perhaps still has nightmares about the talisman but everyone with a Forest persuasion – given his knack for scoring against the Reds.
Abraham is 27-years-old and any club that does sign him this summer will be getting a striker with Premier League experience and a player who should be approaching his peak.
The current Milan striker scored and registered an assist on his debut against Forest back during the 2016/17 campaign, with Bristol City securing a 2-1 win over a Reds outfit managed by Phillipe Montainer.
If that was impressive, his performance during a 5-5 draw with Aston Villa during the 2018/19 campaign was simply ridiculous, with Abraham scoring four times!
It means that the former Chelsea man has bagged five goals and claimed one assist in just four outings against the Reds and as a result, it would be great to have him scoring for fun in the Garibaldi instead from the summer.
