Your own character will sink you

Former NPP Communications Director, Yaw Adomako Baafi, has heavily criticized the former Director of Communications for the Bawumia 2024 Campaign, Miracles Aboagye, for being too self-important.

According to him, any politician with such an attitude will not make it far in politics.

His comment comes after Dennis Miracles Aboagye broke his silence on the allegation that he was hoarding party funds meant for certain individuals, particularly the media.

According to Miracles Aboagye, Adomako Baafi’s claims stem from personal resentment, as he was never the Director of Finance and had no control over party funds.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM on March 10, 2025, Aboagye stated, “I was not the Director of Finance of the party, and I did not handle campaign funds. If campaign money was to be disbursed, it had to go through the Director of Finance.”

He further suggested that Baafi’s grievances were fueled by his dissatisfaction with his appointment as the Director of Communications.

“If someone dislikes you, no matter what you do, you can never impress them. Adomako Baafi was not happy with my appointment as Communications Director, so this reaction is expected,” he said.

But reacting to the comments in an interview with Okay FM on March 13, 2025, Adomako Baafi stated that he has no intention of undoing Miracles Aboagye, urging him to show humility as he navigates politics.

“I am not the one to destroy you. Your own behavior will destroy you. When I heard him say people are destroying him, I laughed it off. It is not about what somebody will say; it is about your own character. What is his image like in the media? How does he relate to you in the media?

“When you call him, he will not pick up. When he sees other people, he walks past them. One requires a lot of humility to be a very good politician, but Miracles Aboagye was full of himself. Instead of adopting a servant-leadership attitude, he rather adopted a master-leadership attitude. And to him, he knew everything, meanwhile, he was empty. I am never jealous of him; I rather look up to a politician who is so humble, like former President J.A. Kufuor.”
