Nine players shine in GPL match week 23, bag NASCO prizes

The Ghana Premier League (GPL) resumed with a bang over the weekend after a brief hiatus following the tragic passing of an Asante Kotoko fan. Match Week 23 delivered thrilling encounters across various venues, with nine standout players earning NASCO Electronics prizes for their exceptional performances.

In Accra, Hearts of Oak continued their impressive form with a 2-0 victory over Young Apostles. Hussein Mohammed of the Phobians was named the NASCO Man of the Match for his commanding display. Meanwhile, in Bibiani, Bibiani Gold Stars edged out Nations FC 1-0, thanks to a goal by Micheal Nkoah. However, it was Kelvin Oppong of the home side who walked away with the NASCO prize for his stellar performance.

At the Vision FC grounds, a 1-1 draw with Hearts of Lions saw Meshack Adjetey Sowah of Vision FC clinch the NASCO Man of the Match award. Similarly, Karela FC’s 1-1 stalemate with Holy Stars featured Mohammed Sulemana of Karela FC as the standout player, earning him the NASCO accolade.

Dreams FC and Aduana Stars played out a goalless draw, but Kevin Ahiable of Dreams FC emerged as the NASCO Man of the Match for his impactful contributions. In Tarkwa, Medeama SC put on a show, defeating Bechem United 3-1. Kamaradini Mamudu, Micheal Sarpong, and Kelvin Nkrumah scored for the home side, while Darlvin Yeboah netted for Bechem. Nurudeen Abdulai of Medeama was named the NASCO Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.

Asante Kotoko delighted their fans in Kumasi with a 2-0 victory over Legon Cities. Patrick Asiedu, who opened the scoring, was also awarded the NASCO Man of the Match prize. Berekum Chelsea’s Stephen Amankona stole the show in their 3-1 win over Accra Lions, bagging a hat-trick and the NASCO Man of the Match award.

In Nsoatre, Samartex secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Nsoatreman, with Mohammed Mankuyeli scoring the decisive goal. However, it was Daniel Afadzwu of Samartex who took home the NASCO prize for his exceptional performance.

The Ghana Premier League continues this weekend with Match Week 24, promising more thrilling action and opportunities for players to earn NASCO Electronics prizes. Fans across the country are eagerly anticipating another round of exciting fixtures as the league enters its decisive phase.
