Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku is reportedly in the running to become the first vice president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
According to reliable journalist Nuhu Adams, the WAFU Zone B president is being considered following a push for greater Anglophone representation within the CAF hierarchy.
AfricaSoccer.com also suggests that Kurt Okraku is viewed as the right candidate for the role, having gained the trust of the West African sub-region.
The CAF first vice president position is currently vacant following the resignation of Augustin Senghor, with CAF president Patrice Motsepe expected to make an appointment in the coming days.
Kurt Okraku recently secured a seat on the CAF Executive Committee (ExCo), marking a significant milestone for both himself and Ghanaian football.
The Ghana football chief was elected to the esteemed board during the CAF Congress in Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. His election makes him the sixth Ghanaian to serve on the prestigious CAF ExCo.
