The former General Manager of Nsoatreman FC, Eric Alagidede has called on the Ghana Football Association to provide heightened security for Nsoatreman FC following a near ambush on the team on Monday, March 10, 2025.
According to reports, an unknown assailant almost attacked the team while they were on their way to play their Ghana Premier League (GPL) fixture against champions FC Samartex on Monday, March 10, 2025.
Speaking in an interview with Sporty FM, Alagidede urged the Football Association to treat the incident as a national security concern and take immediate action to protect the team.
He further advised his former club to avoid traveling at night.
“It’s either we’re going to see it as a national security concern and give them adequate security when they are traveling. I also think that traveling at night is not the best for them because you never know what can happen,” he said.
Although Alagidede acknowledged the cost involved in avoiding nighttime travel, he urged Nsoatreman to prioritize safety over cost.
“It’s going to cost them, but I think it’s better for them to pay more and preserve the lives of those players and the technical team and management members who travel with the team,” he added.
