Popular gospel musician Joyce Blessing has denied allegations that she composed her hit single Victory as a subtle dig at her ex-husband.

In an interview with ZionFelix, released on March 12, 2024, Joyce Blessing stated that, contrary to online speculations, the song was meant to share her success story after overcoming life’s challenges.

She explained that Victory was also composed to inspire people facing difficulties.

“That song is all about testimony and what I have been through. I didn’t sing it because of a specific person. It is also meant to motivate others and glorify God,” she said.

Joyce Blessing also refuted claims that she had approached highlife musician Kuami Eugene to write the song for her.

According to her, Kuami Eugene personally offered her the song, believing she was the perfect fit for it.

“You know, I didn’t ask Kuami Eugene to write that song for me. He called me and gave it to me because he knew I was the right person for it.

“I didn’t take a break because of my struggles. I wanted to return at the perfect time. There were a lot of people talking about me back then, so I had to tone things down a bit. I even released some songs during that period, but due to the rumors surrounding me, they didn’t have the impact I had hoped for,” she added.
