Ing. Kwame Kpekpena, the newly appointed Acting Managing Director (Acting MD) of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), has commenced an official tour of all ECG operational areas to engage directly with grassroots staff and gain firsthand insight into their activities.

The tour serves as an opportunity for the new MD to share his vision and strategic goals with staff and management across ECG’s ten regional offices and operational divisions.

Accompanied by key ECG Directors, Ing. Kpekpena is set to begin the tour on Monday, March 10, 2025, starting with visits to the Accra East Region, the Accra Sub-Transmission (Sub-T) Division, and the Accra West Region.

The itinerary also includes scheduled visits to the Central, Volta, Eastern, Western, Tema, Ashanti East, Ashanti South, and Ashanti West regions, as well as critical divisions such as Sub-T Ashanti, the Project Office, the Materials Depot, the Training Centre, the Head Office, SU Tower, and the Legon Workshop.

During a staff durbar at the Accra East Region on March 10, 2025, Ing. Kpekpena expressed his appreciation for the staff’s support following his appointment. He emphasized the need for strong collaboration between management and employees to position ECG as a leading force in electricity distribution.

He outlined four core principles that will drive his administration: financial prudence, workplace discipline, open communication, and a structured system of rewards and sanctions.

Furthermore, he introduced four thematic focus areas for his leadership: commercial operations, financial management, network operations, and technology development.

He assured staff that expert teams are already in place to oversee these areas and execute strategies aimed at delivering measurable improvements.

Ing. Kpekpena urged all staff to uphold discipline and financial responsibility to ensure the long-term sustainability and efficiency of ECG’s operations in Ghana.
