Christina Jatoe-Kaleo assesssing an area affected by the tidal waves
Management of ECG Volta has paid a visit to the devastating tidal wave disaster that impacted several communities along the coast.
Management conducted an on-site visit to affected areas, including Agavedzi, Amutinu, Salakope, Fuveme, Kpokporgbor, and Agorkedzi.
Led by Regional General Manager Ms. Christina Jatoe-Kaleo, the team meticulously assessed the situation regarding electricity supply and the installation of infrastructure in the impacted areas.
During her visit, Ms. Jatoe-Kaleo highlighted the commitment of the ECG engineers who have been conducting feasibility studies to evaluate the necessary steps for relocating installations, ensuring that power supply can be both improved and maintained in these communities.
The regional engineer Godfred Awuku reported that while five electricity poles suffered damage due to the tidal waves, relocating them will necessitate the installation of a total of twelve new poles. This initiative is critical for reinstating reliable power access to the affected areas in the future.
Assuring the residents of a swift measure, the District Manager Mr. Timothy Affrim conveyed a message of hope, stating, “We are dedicated to ensuring that these communities will experience uninterrupted power supply as we undertake these essential improvements.”
The management team’s visit and commitment to improving electricity reflect ECG’s dedication to supporting impacted communities. These proactive measures aimed not only to improve power but also to enhance the overall resilience of the affected areas against future disasters.
