Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is eyeing a return to playing again after being cleared from his ban.
During his spell at Juventus Paul Pogba was handed a four-year ban for breaching doping regulations. This was later reduced to just 18 months on appeal, permitting him to restart his career from March 2025.
The specific date Paul Pogba was waiting for has now cleared, and he can step up his search for a club.
Over recent weeks Pogba has been linked with clubs in Russia and France, along with Inter Miami. And then there are the persistent Manchester United rumours, which are speculation rather than substance.
Paul Pogba training for return
Paul Pogba has been training to get back to peak fitness, so that when a club calls on him to contribute, he is ready.
The 31-year-old shared a video clip where he was training, alongside his sons, letting the football world know he is available.
He received a message in response from former teammate and current Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes.
Fernandes and Pogba struck up a connection after teaming up in 2020, before the French midfielder’s eventual 2022 exit.
The Portugal star sent a message to Pogba, showing some encouragement, writing: “Beast mode activated.”
Paul Pogba to Manchester United unlikely to happen
In the wake of Amad’s injury, there were calls for Manchester United to consider a move to sign a free agent, with Pogba an obvious candidate.
But with United needing to submit a Europa League squad by early February, and Pogba not eligible to return until March, the logistics did not work – even if there was a will on the club and player’s part.
Former star Rio Ferdinand was on record saying he would like Pogba to be invited back to train at Carrington.
The Frenchman is still Manchester United’s all-time record signing at £89 million, having joined the club for a second spell in 2016.
A third spell won’t be happening, but Pogba is keen to find a club to take him on, and make up for lost time.
