The Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company, Sammy Gyamfi, is optimistic the 2025 Budget and Financial Statement will inspire hope in Ghanaians.

Speaking to the media ahead of the presentation by the Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, he reiterated that the John Dramani Mahama-led administration would deliver on its 120-day social contract with Ghanaians.

“We were very clear in our minds relative to the promises we made to the people of this country in the run-up to the 2024 polls. From the outset, the policies we’re promising are pragmatic and implementable. And so, we’re not going to have any difficulties keeping faith with the people of this country. The change we voted for is here.

“The hope that people of this country need is here. And I’m very optimistic that by the time the finance minister is done reading this budget, many Ghanaians will find hope in his words. We are going to have a budget that responds to our needs, responds to our aspirations as a people, a budget that will ease hardships, a budget that will create jobs, a budget that will create prosperity for all, and a budget that will respect the social contracts that we, in the NDC, have with the good people of this country,” he added.

The 2025 budget, dubbed the ‘Asempa’ budget, is expected to announce the abolishment of several nuisance taxes, including the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy) and the Betting Tax, among others.
