Ghanaian political activist Okatakyie Afrifa has addressed allegations regarding the purchase of fake views, likes, and comments for his new program, For the Records. This show has recently garnered significant attention and has drawn comparisons to With All Due Respect, hosted by Kevin Taylor.
Shortly after its launch, For the Records began to surpass Kevin Taylor’s show in viewership. Enthusiastic supporters of Okatakyie Afrifa took to social media, sharing screenshots of both programs and ridiculing Kevin Taylor. Many asserted that Okatakyie Afrifa’s show was poised to establish itself and eclipse Kevin Taylor’s influence.
Nevertheless, recent viral videos and images have raised questions about the authenticity of the high engagement on For the Records. Some users on social media allege that Okatakyie Afrifa has been purchasing fake views, likes, and comments to enhance the show’s popularity. This has ignited a debate, with critics contending that his swift ascent appears unnatural.
In response to these allegations, Okatakyie Afrifa utilized social media to clarify the situation. He refuted the claims, suggesting that individuals had been employed to manipulate his page to create the impression that he was buying engagement. In his statement, he remarked:
“They have hired people to buy fake likes unto the page to make a point. So, the trending on all social media too no, we bought it anaa. 4yrs is long! Mo b3 br3 papa.”
His statement implies that his increasing popularity is genuine and that his detractors are merely attempting to undermine him. The discussion persists on social media, with both supporters and critics debating the authenticity of the engagement surrounding his show.
