Lady Julia Osei Tutu, the wife of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has inspired schoolchildren to develop self-confidence, emphasising its crucial role in achieving success and overcoming challenges.
“The importance of self-confidence in shaping the future is the key to unlocking your potential and achieving greatness. Developing self-confidence brings numerous benefits, including improved academic achievement and performance, enhanced relationships and social interactions, an increased ability to cope with challenges and setbacks, and the fostering of a positive self-image and mental well-being,” she said.
Speaking at Lady Julia’s Mentorship Masterclass 2025 programme, held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, she encouraged the students to believe in themselves, their abilities, and their dreams.
The programme, organised by the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation, was part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, with the theme “Accelerate Action: Together We Can Force Women’s Equality.”
Lady Julia’s message particularly focused on empowering young girls and preparing them for a brighter future.
On her part, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, the Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, also encouraged women’s participation in technology, stressing the need for greater inclusion.
“Women remain underrepresented in the technology industry, with the lowest number of female professionals in the field,” she lamented.
She further urged the public to support women in pursuing careers in technology, adding that this would not only bridge the gender gap but also bring diverse perspectives and ideas to the industry.
