MP for Madina, Francis Sosu
Member of Parliament for Madina in the Greater Accra Region, Francis Xavier Sosu, has assured the President and the Attorney General of his commitment to resetting legal education and practice in Ghana.
“I am grateful to President John Dramani Mahama and the Attorney General and humbly accept this nomination. I promise to work with other Council members and relevant stakeholders to achieve the President’s reset agenda,” he said in a post shared via social media.
He emphasized the need for reforms in the General Legal Council, which was established in 1960 by the Legal Profession Act, and indicated his commitment to working with stakeholders to revamp the system.
“Set up in 1960 by The Legal Profession Act, 1960 (Act 32), the GLC needs serious progressive reforms.”

“I wish to thank the Learned Attorney General of the Republic of Ghana 🇬🇭, Hon. Dr. Dominic Ayine, for nominating me to the General Legal Council.
The General Legal Council, which regulates the legal profession in Ghana by overseeing legal education and professional practice, plays a key role in ensuring effective and quality justice delivery.
Set up in 1960 by The Legal Profession Act, 1960 (Act 32), the GLC needs serious progressive reforms.
