Medeama SC came from behind to secure a commanding 3-1 victory over Bechem United in an action-packed Ghana Premier League encounter at the T&A Stadium in Tarkwa yesterday.
The visitors took an early lead in the 6th minute when Darlvin Yeboah capitalised on a defensive error to fire home. However, Medeama responded swiftly, when Bernardinho Tetteh equalised in the 16th minute.
Despite dominating possession for the remainder of the first half, Medeama struggled to break down Bechem’s defence.
The breakthrough finally came in the second half when Michael Sarpong finished off a well-worked team move in the 67th minute to put the hosts ahead.
Bechem United pressed for an equaliser, but Medeama’s defence stood firm. Deep into stoppage time, Medeama sealed the victory when Kelvin Nkrumah capitalised on a counterattack to score in the 94th minute, securing all three points for the hosts.
Medeama controlled 52% of possession, created 21 goal attempts, and registered eight shots on target, while Bechem United managed just two shots on target despite winning more corners (9-5).
