President John Dramani Mahama arrived in Bamako, the capital of Mali today as part of his ‘good neighbourliness’ tour.
He was warmly received at Modibo Keita Airport by Mali’s Transitional President, General Assimi Goïta.
The visit marks the beginning of a diplomatic mission that will also take President Mahama to Niger and Burkina Faso—three nations that have recently exited the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and formed the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

The discussions focused on strengthening regional cooperation, security, and economic ties amid the shifting geopolitical landscape in West Africa.
