President John Dramani Mahama
Dr. Samuel Ayeh, a staff member of the Communications Department at the Presidency, has criticized some Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) appointed by President John Mahama to State-Owned Enterprises for allegedly rejecting appointments made to their institutions.
According to him, some party members appointed to positions such as Corporate Affairs Managers in certain institutions are being turned away by their fellow party members who serve as CEOs of these organizations.
Speaking on Asempa FM, as monitored by GhanaWeb, Dr. Samuel Ayeh described this behavior as unacceptable, warning that the party’s base would not tolerate such conduct.
“I am not happy. I have received several calls from our party base. Some of the CEOs who have been appointed have started developing negative attitudes. We all campaigned for this party, and some people even lost their lives in the process. Because of the intense campaign schedule, some even lost their marriages, while others lost their jobs. If you have been fortunate enough to be appointed as a CEO, you should not lord it over others.
“I have heard that some CEOs are rejecting certain appointments made to their institutions, behaving as though they appointed themselves. Some individuals have been appointed as Corporate Affairs Directors in various state institutions, yet when they report for duty, they are turned away by the CEOs under the pretext that there is no space. Is it not the President who created a position for you and appointed you? If the same President has appointed others to your institution to assist you in your work, why would you reject them?”
He continued, “I have no reason to doubt the information I have received. If you have been appointed as a CEO, you must not act as if you are superior to others. These are the very issues that plagued the NPP and led to their downfall. The NDC base is not prepared to lose this opportunity that has been given to them. If you are a CEO, happily driving your Land Cruiser around with your family, you must not, under any circumstances, treat others in a manner that undermines the very foundation of the position granted to you or the party we all serve.
“As a CEO, you must be very careful because, while you are an individual, the party base consists of millions of people. Let us work in the best interest of both the country and the party that has entrusted us with these positions.”
“Some CEOs are rejecting the President’s appointments. Stop being arrogant, you are not better than other party members”
