Former GIMPA Rector, Prof Stephen Adei
A former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Professor Stephen Adei, has said Ghana needs a good government that will be in power for 20 years.
This, he said, will allow the country witness some long term growth for the betterment of all.
In his view, the rampant changes in government, although good for the country’s democracy, does not augur well for economic development.
Prof Adei said governments mostly abandon projects of their predecessors when they take over the affairs of the nation.
He was, however, quick to add that the country should not be governed by the same president in his advocacy for the 20 years in power.
Speaking on TV3’s KeyPoints on March 8, 2025, Professor Adei said, “Ghana needs a good government what will be in power for 20 years. But it should not be the same president.”
Touching on the just-ended National Economic Dialogue, the economist lauded government for the good job done.
The forum brought together policymakers, economists, and industry leaders who discussed strategies for the country’s economic recovery.
