Former Hearts of Oak striker Abednego Tetteh
Former Hearts of Oak striker Abednego Tetteh has terminated his contract with Heart of Lions after making controversial comments about the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
In a statement released on March 4, 2025, the player announced that he had left the club with immediate effect.
Abednego Tetteh dented his relationship with the club after criticising the GFA and stating that the institution should be investigated.
He made the remarks in an interview with Lawson TV/FM, where the former Bechem United forward expressed concerns about the state of football in Ghana.
“The government should cancel the league and sack everyone at the FA. They should be investigated, and the government should manage the league,” he said.
Heart of Lions, in response, distanced themselves from the comments made by the player.
Abednego Tetteh’s contract termination brings an end to his one-year deal signed in 2024.
