Paul Adom-Otchere, host of Good Evening Ghana on Metro TV, has revealed the individual responsible for ordering the recent military raid on the home of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta. Speaking on his show, he disclosed that the current Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, authorised the operation.
According to Adom-Otchere, Agyebeng is leading investigations into the controversial Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) deal, which has raised serious concerns about financial mismanagement and potential state losses. As part of the inquiry, the special prosecutor’s team decided to search Ofori-Atta’s residence.
He further revealed that Ofori-Atta is currently in the United States for medical treatment. Despite his absence, the special prosecutor instructed military officers to enter his home, possibly to secure evidence related to the SML case.
What makes this revelation even more striking is Adom-Otchere’s claim that he possesses video evidence of the raid. He stated that the footage clearly captures how military officers conducted the operation at Ofori-Atta’s Cantonments residence.
The disclosure has sparked mixed reactions, with many questioning the special prosecutor’s approach and the use of military force in such investigations. So far, neither Agyebeng nor the military has responded to these claims.
Ghanaians are now awaiting an official statement from the Special Prosecutor’s office to either confirm or refute Adom-Otchere’s allegations. The situation continues to raise concerns about the handling of the SML investigation and the security of individuals under scrutiny.
