Opare Addo is the communications manager of Accra Hearts of Oak
The management of Accra Hearts of Oak will liaise with their legal team on the recent ruling on a court case between the club and its former employee, Charles Kwarteng.
The former Hearts of Oak Commercial Manager took the club to the courts, demanding some contractual payments and compensations to be made to him.
On Thursday, February 28, 2025, the court ruled in his favour and further asked the club to pay some money to him as a form of compensation.
Responding to this ruling, the communication manager of the club, Opare Addo, told the media the club has taken notice of the judgement of the court and will seek further legal advice from their legal team on their next step of action.
“Yes, the ruling has been given, and we as a law-abiding institution, and it is within our right to seek further professional and legal advice from our lawyers so we can bring closure to this matter. For now, management will await legal advice on the matter, and based on that, we will know the next action to take. It is possible our lawyers will meet him and discuss issues of payment plan, and then the other steps will follow.
“For now, I will entreat everybody to remain calm as we await further directions from our legal team, and then we will know the next step to take. We are poised to collaborate with our former employee and his legal team to respect the ruling of the court,” Addo said.
This comes after the Accra High Court ordered Accra Hearts of Oak to pay an amount of GH¢108,637 to their former Commercial Affairs Manager, Charles Kwarteng, over wrongful dismissal.
Charles Kwarteng was the Commercial Manager for Hearts from 2019 to 2021.
