The suspect, Samuel Adjei has been remanded
A District Court has remanded Samuel Adjei into police custody in connection with a fatal shooting incident during a recent enstoolment ceremony at Nungua in the Greater Accra Region.
According to a statement released by the police on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, investigations indicated that the suspect allegedly fired live ammunition from a single-barrel gun during the enstoolment ceremony, hitting the deceased, Naa Borley Ahmed, in the right thigh.
“Preliminary investigations have indicated that during the enstoolment ceremony, the suspect allegedly discharged live ammunition from a single-barrel gun, striking the deceased, Naa Borley Ahmed, in the right thigh. She was rushed to the Hospital for medical attention but died while receiving treatment.
“Following his arrest, Samuel Adjei was put before the court where he was remanded and expected to reappear on Wednesday, March 12,2025,” the statement said.
