The NDC UK-Ireland Youth Wing and TEIN UK-Ireland have expressed their strong support for the newly established Student Support Desk in London, describing it as a significant step toward enhancing the welfare of Ghanaian students studying abroad.

In a statement issued by the NDC UK-Ireland Youth Organiser, Alfred Freddy Kotogbor, the group highlighted the importance of the initiative in addressing key challenges faced by students overseas, including academic support and scholarship-related issues.

“The creation of a physical desk in London for students to seek assistance and guidance will help foster a sense of community and belonging, significantly enhancing their overseas experience and reducing feelings of isolation,” the statement read.

The initiative is in line with TEIN UK-Ireland’s long-standing mission to support and empower young Ghanaians pursuing education abroad.

The organisation, which was the first student wing established within the NDC’s diaspora department, has consistently provided assistance to students, both those on scholarships and self-funded learners.

The youth wing also emphasized its commitment to working closely with the Foreign Ministry and the Ghana High Commission in the UK to ensure the successful implementation of the initiative.

“We eagerly anticipate collaborating with the Foreign Ministry and the High Commission to ensure this initiative effectively addresses the needs of our diaspora students,” Kotogbor stated.

The NDC UK-Ireland Youth Wing reaffirmed its dedication to advocating for the interests of Ghanaian students abroad, ensuring their concerns are acknowledged and addressed at the highest levels.
