Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku was one of his side’s most dangerous players in the Premier League loss to Liverpool in February.

The Manchester City attacker dribbled past Trent Alexander-Arnold eight times alone in the first half.

However, Doku’s lack of end product let him down as he failed to find the right option far too often, while his shooting was also weak.

Premier League legend Ian Wright has now shared what Doku needs to improve on and what he’d coach into him if he was working with the Belgian.

Wright, speaking on the Wrighty’s House podcast, said Doku was the most dangerous player in the Man City setup against Liverpool.

However, Wright noted how Doku would cut back in on his right foot to play the ball in, and he said he’d “purely” coach Doku to use his left.

The Arsenal legend said the 22-year-old “can do everything” and would really cause problems were he to improve on going on the outside of markets.

“Doku was the most dangerous,” said Wright. “Doku was most dangerous when he goes down the byline. And I’m not sure why he didn’t attack the byline more.

“Because having him cut back in on his right to play the ball back in, I don’t think his left foot. He’s nowhere near as confident on his left foot to go on the outside.

“If I’m Doku, or I’m a coach with Doku, that’s all I’m teaching him right now. He can do everything. He should be working purely on his left side. Because if he can go on the outside of people and get that good crossing, it’s problems.

“Because you notice – Even though his left foot’s not as good as his right, even when he goes to the byline, you see a couple of times, and even in recent games, you know, previous games, when he hits the byline, just him being that tight and close, it disorientates everyone.

“And actually, you can get a good side foot in and then you’re in a position of a bit of joy.”

Jeremy Doku hints at wanting to improve after Liverpool game

After the Liverpool game, Doku noted how he had got past Alexander-Arnold “a lot of times” but acknowledged that the final pass could’ve done with some work.

The £55million man said, via the Liverpool Echo: “I passed him a lot of times but it was then the final pass or I don’t know.

“The most important thing after passing is to create something from it, and I played some good balls in front of the goal but we have to score.

“We have to analyse the game and see what I can do better and what we can do better as a team.”

Doku could certainly take heed of Wright’s advice and improve on his left foot, which would make him an even more fearsome opponent.
