Sampson Ahi, the deputy minister-designate for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, has refuted assertions that the eight-year Akufo-Addo administration constructed roads in the Bodi District, according to reports from GhanaWeb.
His remarks were in response to claims made by Patrick Boamah, the MP for Okaikwei Central, who stated that the NPP government had built roads in that area.
Ahi dismissed these assertions, stating that no tarred roads were added in the Bodi District during the eight years of the administration.
“A big false, you didn’t even add one inch of tarred road in 8 years in Bodi district,” Ahi stated.
During his vetting in Parliament on February 24, Ahi challenged his critics to provide evidence, expressing his willingness to retract his statement if presented with proof.
He welcomed any information from Boamah regarding specific roads that were paved.
“If the Hon. Member [Patrick Boamah] can show me where they tarred the road, I will be happy to retract my statement,” Ahi added.
