President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, alongside the Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee, Stephen Appiah, paid a heartwarming visit to Black Stars defender, Alidu Seidu, who is currently sidelined with an injury.
The Rennes defender suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in November 2024, during a Ligue 1 match against Lille.
As a result, he has been out of action since and has been ruled out for the rest of the season as he continues his recovery.
Seidu’s injury means he will miss Ghana’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in March 2025.
However, with the new technical team emphasising unity within the squad, several key visits have taken place.
Notably, Appiah recently visited Mohammed Kudus in England, while head coach, Otto Addo, checked in on Alexander Djiku and Mohammed Salisu.
Seidu was the latest to receive such support, as Okraku and Appiah visited him to offer encouragement ahead of his return. The two posed for a photo with Seidu, who was seen without crutches — an encouraging sign of progress in his recovery.
Ghana will resume their World Cup qualifying campaign on March 19, 2025, when they host Chad.
The team currently sits second in Group I, level on points with leaders Comoros, with nine points from four matches.
