Ghanaian media personality, Afia Pokua has taken to social media to mourn the passing of her best friend. The untimely passing of Richard Fiifi Darko-Addison has left family, friends, and colleagues devastated. Renowned media personality Afia Pokua, in a heartfelt social media post, expressed her deep sorrow over the loss of someone she considers family.

Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady, reminisced about their close bond, recalling how they lived together in Tema Community 12 and raised their nieces side by side. She emotionally recounted being his biggest cheerleader at his graduation from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), lamenting how painful it is that she will never see him again.

“Kyere se, how can you die, Fiifi?” She wrote, struggling to come to terms with his passing.

In her tribute, she also expressed immense gratitude to Dr. Ofei Larbi and the medical team at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC), who did their best to save Fiifi’s life. She acknowledged their dedication, stating that even at 1 AM, they answered her calls and went extra mile to assist.

God bless Dr Ofei Larbi and the UGMC Medical Team for doing their best because even at 1 am they were okay answering my calls and going the extra mile to help. Praying for his wife, the kids, and his mum, (Olady lady) for God’s covering and protection.” She wrote. As the family prepares to lay him to rest, a burial service has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the Larshibi Funeral Home in Community 18, Spintex, at 8 am. Attendees are expected to wear all-white attire in his honour.

Afia Pokua further extended her prayers to Fiifi’s grieving wife, children and mother, affectionately referred to as “Olady” asking for God’s protection over them.

The tragic news has sparked an outpouring of condolences from friends and sympathisers, as Ghana mourns the loss of yet another cherished soul.
