Hearts of Oak bow out after penalty shootouts loss to Golden Kicks in round 16

Hearts of Oak have been eliminated by lower-division side Golden Kicks FC through penalty shootouts in the round of 16 of the FA CupĀ 

Both teams approached the game with caution and looked very relaxed in the early stages having focused much on keeping the vall and getting much of possession.

Hearts of Oak with a big chance in the 18th minute after Michael Ampadu spotted Kwabena Boateng with a great pass at far post but he failed to stab into the net from a very close range.

Golden Kicks with an attempt on goal having put some passes together in opposition territory but Owusu Dacosta fired wide off the crossbar.

Mawuli Wayo with few minutes to half time won himself a free kick at the edge of the box. Michael Ampadu went in for a power but was tipped off by goalkeeper Kelvin Saaba.Ā 

In the second half, the Rainbow Club suffered a huge blow following Theophilus Collinson’s second yellow card in the 64th minute.

Seth Osei made a very great run above opposing defenders and went in for a power but his effort was saved once again by goalkeeper Kelvin Saaba.

With fifteen minutes to full-time, Mawuli Wayo came so close to scoring but his strike went off the crossbar. So unlucky!

The home side came very close to finding the net but goalkeeper Benjamin Asare to the rescue as it finished goalless in regulation time.

Golden Kicks stunned the grand masters by 4-3 on penalties in the end to advance to the next stage.
