Share

A heated debate has erupted on social media after a Ghanaian man, identified as Quodjo_Phamous on TikTok, publicly criticized renowned television and radio host Auntie Naa over her handling of a recent case on Oyerepa FM’s ‘Oyerepa Afutuo’ program.

According to YEN, In a video that has since gone viral, Quodjo_Phamous accused Auntie Naa of displaying bias in a child custody case involving a woman who abandoned her child for seven years before suddenly returning to reclaim custody.

According to the details of the case, the woman allegedly left her baby with the child’s father and moved on to marry another man. Struggling to raise the child alone, the father eventually found another woman, who took on the responsibility of caring for the child. Years later, the biological mother resurfaced, seeking custody, and, to the dismay of many, found support from Auntie Naa.

Expressing his frustration, Quodjo_Phamous stated: “How can you support a mother who abandoned her child for years? The father struggled and raised the child, and now you expect him to hand the child back just like that?”

His criticism has sparked a wave of reactions among netizens, with some agreeing with him while others defended Auntie Naa’s decision. Supporters of the host argue that the mother may have had her reasons for leaving and that she deserves a chance to reconnect with her child. However, critics insist that Auntie Naa’s stance was unfair to the father, who had shouldered the responsibility alone for years.

The incident has ignited a broader conversation about child custody battles and the role of public figures like Auntie Naa in mediating such cases. While some believe her influence helps resolve family disputes, others argue that her judgments can sometimes be one-sided.

As the debate rages on, social media remains divided on whether Auntie Naa made the right call or if she overstepped her boundaries in this emotionally charged case.
