According to GhanaWeb, Patrick Yaw Boamah, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, has faced significant backlash from Ghanaians on social media after questioning the cabinet appointments made by President John Dramani Mahama.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Boamah highlighted that Ghanaians are interested in knowing the total number of appointments made.

He referenced Article 76 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, which details the cabinet’s establishment and function, and urged the President to disclose the list of ministers after his initial cabinet meeting.

This statement prompted criticism from various users on the platform, who claimed he should not assume to speak for them.

Many urged Boamah to maintain respect for his role and avoid such public declarations.

Comments included frustrations about his presumption, with some users advising him to focus on his duties instead of engaging in social media discussions.

“Please do not speak on our behalf. We respectfully ask you to refrain from doing so. You represent your constituency, not all Ghanaians. Your government’s anger is still directed at us. You misused the funds you received from the IMF for your own selfish interests,” one user stated.

Others expressed feelings of annoyance regarding past government actions, particularly concerning tax policies and the use of funds.

Some users pointed out the irony of his comments, suggesting that just months after leaving office, former officials are already making demands despite the issues left unresolved during their tenure.

On February 20, 2025, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State for Government Communications, officially revealed the names of the cabinet members appointed by President Mahama.
