President John Dramani Mahama
The Youth Bridge Foundation has pledged to ensure that President John Dramani Mahama’s government fulfills its campaign promises to the country.
They emphasized that the era of political parties failing to deliver on their promises is over, as they have developed a comprehensive policy brief to hold the government accountable.
During a program themed, “Youth Sensitivity Analysis of Political Parties’ Manifestos,” Professor Justice Nyigmah Bawole, Dean of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), highlighted the foundation’s objective.
“The National Youth Policy clearly outlines why youth aspirations are a priority. Political parties, including the NDC, have manifestos aligned with these aspirations. Our next step is to ensure these promises are implemented.
“The commitments made in the manifesto, in alignment with the National Youth Policy, must be fulfilled. We will monitor the government’s progress and ensure they remain accountable to Ghanaian youth,” he stated.
Mawuena Azumah, Board Secretary of the Youth Advisory Board, reaffirmed the Youth Bridge Foundation’s commitment to strict accountability.
“Following the launch of this policy brief, we have established a youth accountability call to monitor and track the government’s progress. We will ensure they remain accountable for their promises to Ghanaian youth,” she said.
Notably, President Mahama has encouraged Ghanaians to hold him accountable for his promises, which include restoring economic stability, prioritizing local participation in key sectors, and promoting transparent governance.
