The Adisadel College Millennium (2000) Year Group is set to host the school’s 115th Anniversary and Speech & Prize-Giving Day, continuing the tradition of alumni giving back to their alma mater 25 years after graduation.
The celebrations will take place from March 3 to 9, 2025.
As part of the anniversary festivities, the Millennium Group has undertaken a major redevelopment project—the remodeling and refurbishment of the Job 600 block.
This initiative aims to modernize the facility, ensuring it meets contemporary educational needs. The project, which has been under construction for the past 10 months, will be officially unveiled during the celebrations.
A Vision for Modern Education Infrastructure
Explaining the rationale behind the initiative, Richard Nii Amu Arthur, President of the Millennium (2000) Year Group, stated:
“We realized that instead of constructing a new multi-purpose building, it would be more impactful to remodel the existing, dilapidated Job 600 block. This building, which has remained unchanged since the 1960s, no longer serves its purpose effectively or reflects the esteemed status of Adisadel College as a center for higher learning.”
He further emphasized the group’s commitment to promoting STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, which is critical to modern learning methodologies.
“To uplift STEAM education in the school, we have embarked on a project that expands educational infrastructure and modernizes learning environments. As the first alumni group of the millennium, we feel a strong responsibility to set a high standard for future generations.”
A $300,000 Transformation for Job 600
The refurbishment project, estimated at $300,000, will transform Job 600 into a state-of-the-art multipurpose building. The upgraded facility will include:
An Amphitheater
Two Physics Laboratories
A Counseling Center
A Computer Laboratory
A Robotics Center
Classrooms and Staff Rooms
A National Math & Science Quiz Room
A Storage Facility
Additionally, the washrooms beneath the Job 600 block will be renovated into modern, high-standard facilities to serve all four Upper School houses.
“Bringing this project to completion at a world-class standard has been no small feat,” Arthur added. “However, as our school ode says, others have labored, and we share their glory; ours is to do exploits and add to their gains. This is our contribution to Adisadel’s legacy.”
115th Speech & Prize-Giving Day Highlights
The Speech & Prize-Giving Day will be held on March 8, 2025, under the theme: “The Role of STEAM Education for National Development in the 21st Century.”
