A recent video circulating on social media has shed light on the severe challenges some healthcare professionals face in rural areas of Ghana while striving to provide care to citizens.
The video, making rounds online on February 16, 2025, shows two dedicated health workers wading through a river to reach a remote community.
In the process, their path was obstructed by a dilapidated wooden bridge.
The video that has since stirred reactions online also captures another health worker taking off his trousers to go through the river in order to reach his destination.
A voice, assumed to be that of a young boy, was also heard offering guidance to the health worker on how to cross the river safely.
“Step in slowly, and your steps must be slow as well, or you might slip and fall,” the boy advised.
This incident, which is one of many across the country, highlights the broader challenges of healthcare delivery in remote communities.
