Lauren Baaba Annan elected as NAHSAG coordinating secretary

In a historic moment for student leadership and health advocacy, Lauren Baaba Annan has been elected as the Coordinating Secretary of the National Health Students Association of Ghana (NAHSAG) for the 2024/2025 administration.

The election took place at the just-ended NAHSAG Congress, which saw delegates from UDS, KNUST, Accra School of Hygiene, UG, UHAS, UCC, Korle-Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training College, and other universities and health trainee institutions across Ghana.

Lauren, a level 300 Doctor of Pharmacy student at the University of Cape Coast, affectionately called “The Law”, has long been recognized for her passion for leadership, advocacy, and student welfare.

Her election is a testament to her commitment to driving impactful change within Ghana’s health student community.

Lauren Baaba Annan has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout her journey, holding various influential positions:

* Founder, Lauren Impact Foundation – Dedicated to humanitarian initiatives.

* National Tertiary Coordinator, Visionary Norman Foundation (VNF) – Working to empower young leaders.

* General Secretary, Superannuation Hall, UCC – Serving as a voice for students.

* SRC Representative for UCC Satellite Campuses – Advocating for students in all UCC-affiliated campuses.

Her journey in leadership started early, holding notable roles as an SRC Organizer at St. Brother André High School, an Assistant School Prefect, and even a School Prefect at Divine Lillies Montessori School.

Lauren’s leadership is not just about titles; she is a changemaker with a track record of service and humanitarian work. Some of her remarkable initiatives include:

Organizing free health screenings in Nima, Ayawaso East Constituency.

Leading Feed the Street programs in Tudu and Cape Coast under VNF.

Launching a Mentorship Program for Young Leaders to inspire the next generation.

Her drive for advocacy aligns perfectly with her new role as Coordinating Secretary of NAHSAG, where she will play a crucial role in bridging communication, coordinating student health programs, and amplifying the voices of health students across the nation.
