Manchester United have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Sporting CP winger Geovany Quenda for a transfer fee of £50 million.
Manager Ruben Amorim will already be looking at players that can suit his style of football with the summer transfer window an important step in developing a squad for Amorim.
His United side currently sit 13th in the Premier League table, winning two of their last four Premier League matches. They also remain in the FA Cup after a win against former interim manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Leicester City. They won 2-1 thanks to goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Harry Maguire at Old Trafford. They face Tottenham this weekend.
However, according to new reports, Manchester United have already begun their transfer activity for the summer window by signing Sporting CP winger Geovany Quenda for a fee of £50m.
According to Portuguese Newspaper A Bola, United have agreed a deal for Quenda, who previously played under Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP.
Who is Geovany Quenda?
The 17-year-old is poised for a bright future. He can play both as a right back and a right winger, playing as a right wing-back in Amorim’s system, and so is a signing that could be impactful for United for years to come.
He’s made 37 appearances for Sporting CP so far this season, scoring two goals and providing seven assists for the Portuguese side.
Quenda came through the academy at the club, and this is his first season playing for the first team, which means Ruben Amorim was the one to hand him the promotion up from the youth teams.

Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres has also been heavily linked to a move to Manchester United. He is one of the most in-demand goal-scorers in world football.
Gyokeres looks set to leave Portugal in the summer and so United will likely fight the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea in order to sign the striker.
The Sweden international has scored 32 goals in 32 games for Sporting this season, and Amorim will hope to attract him to Old Trafford in the summer.
