Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has broken his silence after being sent off in the aftermath of his side’s 2-2 Merseyside derby draw with Everton.
Jones was sent off after shoving Abdoulaye Doucoure shortly after full-time, sparking a mass brawl between both sets of players.
The England midfielder received a second yellow card, having already been booked for a late tackle on during the match itself.
Doucoure was also shown a second yellow card, with Jones’ actions occurring after the Frenchman had ran towards the away section of supporters and gestured towards them.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulsoff were also given their marching orders after the full-time whistle by referee Michael Oliver.
Doucoure broke his silence on the 2-2 draw just over an hour after full-time, taking to Twitter to post photos of himself celebrating and of banners inside Goodison Park.
He wrote: “Passion. Determination. Desire. Goodison Park.”
The Merseyside derby was the last at Everton’s iconic home stadium, as they will move into the new Bramley Moore Dock ground from the beginning of next season.
James Tarkowski scored a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time to rescue a point for the Toffees, who had gone ahead in the first half through Beto.
Now, Liverpool midfielder Jones – who, like Doucoure, will be banned for his side’s next fixture despite the punishment being awarded after full-time – has broken his silence.
Taking to Twitter, he refused to address the Doucoure incident and simply wrote: “Always together!”
Jones attached photos of Liverpool celebrations after Mohamed Salah put them 2-0 ahead, and the Reds’ number 17 dribbling the ball in front of Everton’s Jesper Lindstrom.
