The security official preventing Appiah Stadium from seeing President Mahama
Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, a Kumasi-based political activist and supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed that he has been in discussions with former President John Dramani Mahama regarding a possible appointment in his government.
According to Appiah Stadium, he is making efforts to remain relevant in Mahama’s considerations for appointments, as he does not want his name to fade from the former president’s memory.
He expressed his desire to secure a position, stating that he hopes to be appointed to a role, preferably as head of security at Ghana Gas or a petroleum company.
However, he extended an apology to the president’s security team for his recent actions at Burma Camp, where he attempted to see Mahama but was blocked by security officials.
Speaking in an interview on Royal TV on February 11, 2025, Appiah Stadium stated, “Mahama is a good person, but as I have said before, even if I had the opportunity to meet him every day, I wouldn’t do that.
“However, since I was in Accra, I had to get closer to him to remind him of my presence in case there was a job opportunity. When I met him, he asked me to come to the Jubilee House, and I did. But I am still in talks with him regarding an appointment. At the very least, I would be content with a position at Ghana Gas or a petroleum company as head of security.
“People are watching me and asking what I have gained from all my support. So, if I don’t get closer to him, I won’t get my share of the cake.”
