Vinicius Jr.’s Real Madrid teammates are beginning to grow tired of the Brazilian, who is being pushed closer towards a move to Saudi Arabia according to SPORT, which cited anonymous sources.
Recent matches have seen ‘Vini’ in public conflicts with other members of Carlo Ancelotti’s first team squad.
After a 1-0 loss to Espanyol in Cornella, a Movistar clip of the winger berating Dani Ceballos for not passing to him went viral, on what was a frustrating night for all concerned as the club then engaged in a back-and-forth with the league and its president Javier Tebas regarding what it perceives to be unfair officiating.
Then in the 3-2 win over Leganes in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, Luka Modric gave the Ballon d’Or a scolding for not coming back to help defend – which Ancelotti supported the Croat for in his post-match press conference.
“Sometimes, with the opponent’s low block, Vini goes inside to look for a pass behind the defense,” Ancelotti first acknowledged. “It’s better to be patient, as you saw in the goal … It was an approach that we had to make in the first half,” he then added.
Following a similar sitdown with the media, which followed the 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the derby, Ancelotti also seemed to criticise Vinicius for not doing what was asked of him.
At a time when he hasn’t hit the back of the net in La Liga since November, SPORT reports that the 24-year-old “has become a problem for Real Madrid”, which feels put out by him pointing to Spain being a racist country while he is “exhausting the patience of his teammates on and off the field”.
